Abstract

912,866. Injection-moulding machines. TOS RAKOVNIK, NARODNI PODNIK. Dec. 9, 1960 [Dec. 9, 1959], No. 42622/60. Class 87(2). Apparatus for closing mould sections 16, 17 comprises a fixed transverse frame member 1 having telescopically associated with it a piston/ cylinder assembly 7, 6, to the piston 7 of which is attached a clamping plate 15 carrying movable mould section 16, and carrying a double acting piston/cylinder unit 5, 4 for moving assembly 7, 6, plate 15, and section 16 rapidly towards section 17 supported on fixed transverse .frame member 2, a piston/cylinder unit 10, 9 for locking cylinder 6 in position with head 11, and a screw 12 with a head 13 located in a recess in piston 7 to adjust the distance between plate 15 and frame member 2. With the mould sections closed and cylinder 6 locked by head 11, the final mould closing pressure is applied by forcing high pressure liquid between piston 7 and cylinder 6.
