Abstract

A ventilating system for buildings housing animals comprises air-injecting devices, Fig. 3, for drawing in fresh air and mixing it with recirculated air and extraction ventilators with dampers (13, 14, Fig. 1, not shown), the dampers in the injecting devices and in the extraction ventilators being linked together so that as the dampers in the injection devices open those in the extraction ventilators close and vice versa. A servomotor may operate the dampers electrically or mechanically according to a signal from a thermostat or a hygrostat. Each airinjecting device has an inlet duct 1 for fresh air, a mixing chamber 2 and a distributer head 3, there being dampers 7 which admit recirculated air through opening 9 and which can be moved by wires 15 to close the inlet 1. A fan 17 draws the air into the head 3 where a deflector 20 directs the air to adjustable outlets controlled by gap-plates 21 pivotable around bolts 23. There outlets can be adjusted to direct a strong air blast into the corners of the buildings. Hot air may be introduced into the space between the ceiling and jets 26 issuing from the head 3.
