Abstract
1,125,673. Air curtains. CONDITIONAIRE AUSTRALIA PTY. Ltd. 27 Jan., 1967, No. 4234/67. Heading F4V. An air curtain comprises two streams, one at ambient temperature and one heated or cooled. A centrifugal fan 16 blows air through a passage 13 divided by a baffle 26 into two passages ending in nozzles 24, 25. One of the passages contains a heating or cooling battery 29. A flap valve 27 regulates the proportion of flow into the two passages. An air deflector 28 is provided at the air outlet. The embodiment shown comprises an elongate cabinet of substantially pear-shaped cross-section and incorporates two centrifugal blowers 16. In a modification (Figs. 3, 4) a single centrifugal fan within a rectangular casing is driven by a motor and belt drive and directs air through two upwardly directed nozzles. In a further modification (Fig. 9) axial flow fans are employed.
