Abstract

124,052. Maxon, H. R. March 14, 1918. Atmospheric gas burners.-Gas and air are supplied from a fan or the like to the burner or burners of a closed furnace or other closed heating apparatus as a correctly proportioned mixture to support combustion without addition of an external air supply and at a pressure substantially atmospheric, the velocity of the mixture being such as to prevent, striking back, without the necessity of using screens or the like. The air and gas are supplied separately to the fan in regulable quantities, the air and gas being separately regulated. In one form of apparatus, each burner head is supplied by means of a fan 8 through an unobstructed conduit 7 of large capacity. The air supply to the fan is preferably regulated by a rotary valve 10 mounted on the gas inlet pipe 11 which is provided with a valve 12.
