Regulating compression.-The gas-holder of an air gas plant is arranged to vary simultaneously the supply of gas to the hot-air engine driving the fan or blower and the area of the inlet of the fan or blower. The carburetted air enters the holder b through a pipe a, from which a branch c leads to the hot-air engine. The pipe a surrounds a pipe carried by the bell e and having at its upper end a non-return valve f The pipe d is formed with a slot g and holes h arranged to register with the pipe c. A projection s on the bell e operates a rotatable valve n on the inlet of the blower m through links p, o. Specification 18,127/12 is referred to.
