Overhead incandescent lamps.-In an inverted lamp in which the draught of the lamp is controlled by a regulator, no external air supply is admitted to the lamp, and the internal air supply is admitted to the mixing-chamber above the regulator for controlling the exit for the combustion gases from an enclosed globe or chamber. In one form, the combustion gases pass from the flue 2 through one or more outlets 3 either direct into the atmosphere or through a dome 4, the outlet or outlets 3 being provided with valves 5. The internal air supply passes upwardly to the burner between the flue and an external casing 6, the space between the flue and the casing being in some cases broadest at its inlet.
