Abstract

1,228,933. Spray burners. UNION GENERALE DE DISTRIBUTION DE PRODUITS PETROLIERS, and R. E. GUERIN. 3 July, 1968 [4 July, 1967], No. 31700/68. Heading F4T. In a liquid fuel burner an emulsion of fuel and water is supplied to an atomizer 7 by an emulsifier 4 and is sprayed thereby into a combustion chamber 17, and the atomizer 7 and the emulsifier 4 are axially movable with respect to the combustion chamber. The atomizer 7 is mounted in a cup-shaped member 9 and has a return flow-pipe 8 on which the emulsifier is mounted. The cup-shaped member 9 is slidably supported in a cylindrical casing 1 by studs 11 and is moved by a regulating screw 12. Air enters the casing 1 tangentially via a duct 16 and is fed to the combustion chamber 17 via a passage 20 between a portion 18 of the chamber and the member 9. An ignition electrode 13 and adjustable fins 14 are mounted on the member 9.
