Abstract

1,063,457. Burners. W. BRÍDLIN. July 1, 1964 [July 1, 1963], No. 27247/64. Heading F4T. A gaseous or liquid fuel burner comprises a centrally located atomizing nozzle 4 surrounded by an air inlet which is provided with longitudinally adjustable swirl vanes 3. In use about 25% of fuel is supplied to the nozzle 4 with just sufficient air for complete combustion so that the vaporizing chamber 8 becomes hot, the full fuel supply is then fed to the burner so that with insufficient air inside the chamber 8 the flames spread to the outside of the radiant grid 9 to heat the mesh 11.
