Abstract

1,224,733. Caps for containers. KORK-NSEAL Ltd. 19 March, 1968 [31 March, 1967], No. 14956/67. Heading B8T. A container neck 42 having a rim 46 is closed by a cap 40 having a top with a dished portion 45, a sealing liner 41, and a skirt, the cap being so constructed that, expressing the diameter of the bore as x, the diameter of the dished portion 45 is from 1À1x to 1À2x, the liner 45 being compressed along a circular line between the rim 46 and the portion 45. In other embodiments the dished portion (15), Fig. 2 (not shown), is either frusto-conical or it may be curved throughout, Fig. 1 (not shown). The radius of curvature of the portion 45 may be from x to 1À1x. The cap may be of metal or plastics.
