Abstract

343,439. Screw-cap stoppers. MAcARTHUR, J., 25, Gordon Street, Glasgow. Nov. 13, 1929, No. 34604. [Class 125 (iii).] Relates to screw-caps for bottles &c. of the type having a convex central depression or plug element. According to the invention the interior of the cap 1 is provided with a uniformly thick lining 6 of cork &c. which extends over the whole surface of the bottle rim. The lining may be permanently held to the inner surface of the cap by adhesive, and may be of rubber, cardboard, compressed fibre, tinfoil, or papier mÔchÚ, or any combination of these materials. The depression in the screwcap may be formed in a separate piece so as to constitute a false inner cap therefor. Specifications 18093/88 and 15672/06, [both in Class 125, Stoppering &c.], are referred to.
