Abstract

337,110. Macarthur, J. Aug. 26, 1929. Screw-cap stoppers.-Relates to screw-caps for bottles &c of the type comprising a ring-shaped top connected to a flat central portion by a cylindrical or frusto-conical collar which engages a cork sealing ring. According to the invention the frusto-conical &c. collar 2 is formed so that its peripheral surface extends below the lower edge of the cork 7 and prevents the contact thereof with the liquid in the bottle. The ring 3 and flat 1 may be utilized for advertisements. In a modification the collar, ring and flat central portions are formed separately from the screwed part of the stopper. The cork 7 is arranged in a recess in the bottle neck and may have a cylindrical or tapering bore.
