Abstract

1,224,732. Container closures. ALLEN & HANBURYS Ltd. 27 Feb., 1968 [27 Feb., 1967], No. 9168/67. Addition to 1,061,810. Heading B8T. In order to retain the protective cap more firmly on the stopper, the construction of which is disclosed in parent Specification, ribs 8 or an annular bead (9), Fig. 6 (not shown), are provided. The cap will deform to conform with the contours of the stopper during sterilization. The cap may also have a bead adapted to engage in a groove on the stopper. A rubber diaphragm may be fitted externally of the stopper and held in position by an aluminium tear-off cap.
