Abstract

122,342. Stott, W. April 20, 1918. Feeding carding-engines. - Cotton or cotton waste is fed direct from a scutcher lap to a finisher card without the intervention of a breaker card by means comprising an air trunk E and an oscillating telescopic trunk G provided at its lower end with collecting cages H which are traversed across the feed apron B of the finisher card A to deliver the fibre thereto. The laps fed from the holders C by rollers d are broken up by a spiked roller D and the fibres are drawn up the trunk E by a fan F. The trunk G is mounted to oscillate and the carriage carrying the cages H and the lower part of the trunk G is mounted on rails h<1>.
