Abstract

1,221,444. Saddles. A. TEMPLE. 18 Dec., 1969 [27 Sept., 1968], No. 45971/68. Heading A1M. A saddle cushion comprises a seat panel 10 of flexible material, e.g. polyurethane foam-backed leather simulating plastics material, having front and rear sections 12, 13, and two flap panels 11. The flap panels 11 may be faced on the underside with layers of plastics sheet material. Fastening means of elastically extensible straps 18, 21 on the seat and flap panels 10, 11 respectively engage with the saddle's cantle 24 and skirts 25. The panels 10, 11 may alternatively be of other materials, e.g. woven fabric, and the cushion as a whole may be formed of one piece or of several pieces joined together, e.g. by sewing.
