A seat cover of knitted or stretch fabric has a foamed plastics backing bonded or stitched to portions covering the seat top and the front of the back rest. When arm portions are included they are also foam backed. The lower peripheral edges of the cover are secured beneath the seat by elastic or a draw cord.
