1476861 Upholstery B NAYLOR 21 Jan 1976 [24 Jan 1975] 3098/75 Heading A4M An upholstered seat, back or like furniture panel comprises a body of hardboard, plywood or plastics or laminations thereof, the body having a perimetral channel or groove 11, padding 5, e.g. of sponge rubber or foam plastics, over-lying one face of the body, and a cover 6 with a hem housing a tie cord 7 which is pulled taut to draw the cover edge into the channel or groove to secure it therein. A further cover for the face opposite the padded face may have its perimeter tucked into the channel or groove 7 to be held in position by the cord 7 or by its own tie cord.
