Abstract

950,122. Seat covers. MINTY Ltd. Oct. 9, 1962 [Nov. 10, 1961], No. 40376/61. Heading A4M. A pouch-like cover, comprising united, flexible panels 15-19, for the arm 6 of a chair includes at the lower edge of its outer panel 15 means to draw the panel 15 against the arm 6 and further includes a rigid shaping member 30 in this lower edge. A complete chair cover comprises a first portion 9 having two such arm covers joined by a front panel 21 and a second portion 10 comprising panels 11, 12, 13 for covering the seat back, the two portions being joined by a sliding clasp fastener 20. The hemmed lower edges of the front and side panels 21, 15 incorporate rods 30, shaped as desired to conform to the seat. Fabric flaps 32 secured to these edges carry an elastic cord 34 whose ends are connected together, as at 35, which serves to draw the panels 12, 15, 21 against the back 7 and arms 6. A similar cord and flap arrangement connects the lower edges of the arm's inner panels 16 and the upper edge of the front panel 21 which carries a preferably padded, flap to be tucked beneath a cushion 37.
