Abstract
949,825. Loose covers for chairs &c. ROBIN MILLS Ltd. Feb. 17, 1960 [July 17, 1958; July 29, 1959], Nos. 36980/58 and 26076/59. Heading A4M. A loose cover for a chair, settee or the like has a back part 3, comprising portions 4, 4a for covering the front and rear of the chair back centrally, and shoulder parts 21, 22 for covering the other areas of the chair back, each shoulder part comprising a number of sections, 2g two or three, joined together to form a pocket to be fitted on the shoulder and overlapped by portions 4, 4a. As shown, the cover includes a seat portion 1 and arm and side covering portions 7, 8 provided with frilled skirting 2, 16 and is held in place at the back by elastic straps and elsewhere by twist pins. In a modification the skirting 16 is omitted and the seat portion 1 carries a frill sufficiently long to extend round the chair for attachment at the back. Alternatively, the skirting may be omitted entirely and the lower edges of the back, side and seat portions may be secured to the underside of the chair. The shoulder pockets may accommodate the wings of a wing-type arm chair.
