Abstract
1,038,869. Loose covers for chairs &c. WILLIAM O'HANLON & CO. Ltd. March 12, 1964 [Sept. 6, 1963], No. 35325/63. Heading A4M. [Also in Division F2] A set of prefabricated parts to form a loose cover for a chair, settee &c. includes a seat and back part C (Fig. 1, not shown) to which are attached a continuous frill 9, and wrap-around portions 11 for the sides of the seat back, and includes right-hand and left-hand arm-covering parts A, B each of which has portions 1, 2 to cover the outer and inner panels and top of an arm, a wrap-around portion 3 for the front of the arm and an extension 4 to pass round the back of the chair. The parts are supplied with removable labels or tags marked as at X and A<SP>1</SP> and an instruction sheet showing where these indexed parts should be placed over the chair. The parts A, B are secured in place by elastic straps 6 having spikes or clawed clips 7, excess material being tucked between the seat and the arms or secured by screwed pins or plugs or by twist pins (Fig. 13, not shown), the part C similarly secured and the ends of the frill overlapped and secured at the back of the chair. A bag-like cover for a seat squab, closed by an elasticated mouth, buttoning, &c., may be included in the kit.
