A cover strip S for fitment in a central, longitudinal depression in the back-rest 3 and/or seat portion (2) of a vehicle seat comprises an absorbent layer 4 of pile fabric with a foam plastics backing (5) and is provided with means for releasably fastening the strip S to the seat. The fastening means may comprise hooks or, as shown, comprises press buttons 6 engageable with complementary fastener elements 7 on a metal band 8 carried by the seat framework.
