Abstract

982,408. Loose covers for seats RONYLE-VOI Ltd. Oct. 25, 1962 [Nov. 10, 1961], No. 40381/61. Heading A4M. A car seat cover (Fig. 1) is formed of a single thickness of plastics sheet material, e.g. polyvinyl chloride which has a tendency to adhere to upholstery materials, and comprises a seat portion cover 10, a back portion cover 12, a joining portion 14 which in use is tucked between the seat and back and pocket forming portions 16, 18, 19, 20, 21 embracing the front, sides, bottom and back of the seat, the seat and back cover portions 10, 12 being such that when fitted on the seat they are in a stretched condition. In an alternative embodiment (Fig 5), tapes 41 are provided near the tuck in portion 34 for securing to the seat frame. The sheet material may be formed ridges 23 enclosing domed portions 22 which define pockets that lie adjacent the upholstery surface. Specifications 929,026 and 929,027 are referred to.
