Abstract

868,320. Mattress covers; retaining occupants in bed. BAYLISS B. Jan. 28, 1960 [Feb. 7, 1959], No. 4352/59. Classes 52(2) and 52(4). A mattress cover comprises a flexible envelope 1 enclosing a mattress 2 located on a bed frame 3 and has a resilient safety fence 4 at its upper edges. The safety fence may be either inflatable or formed of foamed rubber, plastic or similar material so as to be resilient but yet firm. A single fence may be replaced by a separate fence along each side or by a fence along only the longitudinal sides.
