Abstract

122,130. Blache, H. H. July 9, 1918. Pistons; piston-rods. - Relates to rings for scraping the surplus oil off cylinders and pistonrods, and consists in providing a scraping edge on, or slightly above, the middle plane of the ring so that canting of the ring in its groove does not impair its efficiency. Fig. 3 shows a cross section of a ring with a scraping edge h. Rings for piston-rods are made in sectors held up to the rod by a garter spring n, Fig. 5, and are placed in a housing which may be arranged on the crankcasing as shown at l in Fig. 4.
