Abstract

1,209,568. Two-part couplings. T. JERMYN, [trading as JERMYN INDUSTRIES INTERNATIONAL]. 15 Aug., 1969, No. 40860/69. Heading H2E. A socket for an electrical component coinprises a base member 10 having a face 16 provided with socket apertures and a slide member 11 received within a slot 18 and positively retained therein, co-operating ramp surfaces 19, 14 being provided on said base and slide members. The base member may comprise, extending substantially parallel with its ramp surface, a retaining surface 61, the slide member including a projection (24, Fig. 5, not shown) engaging beneath said retaining surface. Alternatively, the slide member may comprise a retaining groove or shoulder and engaged by a projection in base member. The slide member comprises a component engaging surface 13 extending parallel to face 16 of base member and may have a pair of spaced component engaging surfaces. A base member may be provided with more than one slide member received within slots in base member and arranged to project from a common end face and the slots open towards opposite end faces, connections may be made to connecting members 12 by soldering.
