Abstract

1,093,491. Two part couplings. INDUSTRIAL COMMUNICATIONS & ELECTRICAL CO. Ltd. June 12, 1964 [June 12, 1963] No. 23368/63. Heading H2E. A support member 4 (Fig. 2) having sockets in its front face 3 which receive plugs 2 connected to electrical equipment in a housing 1 is provided with bell-crank levers 5, 6 which facilitate removing the housing 1 from or connecting the housing 1 to the support member 4. The housing is connected to the member 4 by guiding pins 15, 16 provided on the housing into guide slots 10, 12 of the levers 5, 6 when held in the position shown and pivotting the levers 5, 6 so that the pins 15, 16 move along the guide slots to force the plugs and sockets into engagement. Each of the levers 5, 6 may be connected to a corresponding lever at the other end of the support member 4 and similar pairs of levers may be joined so that when the housing has been fully inserted in the support member, the loop formed by the pair of levers 5 and their joining portion 13 and the loop formed by the pair of levers 6 and their joining portion 14 embrace the housing 1 to hold it in position.
