An electrical wiring connector comprises a casing 11, a plurality of spaced apart guide passages 13 for introduction of bared line ends past free spring ends 17 of a leaf spring mounted in the casing for locking the line ends and electrical interconnection therebetween one end of the leaf spring being slit to form spaced apart tongues which lie at the rear of guide passages 13 to facilitate introduction and subsequent locking of the line ends and insulated bar elements 22 mounted in the casing and abutting the tongues for releasing the line ends. The leaf spring is substantially U-shaped with the end having spaced apart tongues being bent towards the other end which is also slit to provide narrower tongues between which the bar elements 22 extend to actuate the tongues on the bent portion. The bar elements 22 may be formed integrally as in the embodiment of Fig. 4 or as loose elements, Fig. 7 (not shown). The part of the casing containing the bar elements may be formed as a cover adapted to be pushed over the casing (Fig. 6, not shown), or to be hinged on a side of the casing opposite the guide passages as in (Fig. 7, not shown). The casing may be formed having pair of opposite guide passages so that line ends may be inserted from either side. Further, several casings may be joined together to form multiple assemblies (Fig. 9, not shown).
