Abstract

860,358. Two-part couplings. AUTOMATIC TELEPHONE & ELECTRIC CO. Ltd. Aug. 10, 1959 [Sept. 3, 1958], No. 28242/58. Class 38(1). Each conductor 11 on a printed circuit card 10 is extended to that edge of the card which is to be inserted in a socket assembly and is provided with a conducting contacting member secured to extend along one face of the card in engagement with the conductor, around the edge of the card and along the other face of the card to provide contacting surfaces on both faces of the card. The securing means may be a rivet 14, or a wire clip 24, or the contacting member may be formed with tongues which engage holes in the card as in Fig. 3b. Low resistance contacting areas for co-operation with the contact members of the socket assembly may be constituted by welded dome-shaped precious metal contacts 16, by embossed domeshaped portions 26 plated with precious metal, or by a precious metal surface 34.
