Abstract

1,032,414. Two-part couplings. AUTOMATIC TELEPHONE & ELECTRIC CO. Ltd. Aug. 22, 1962 [Sept. 13, 1961], No. 32814/61. Heading H2E. A multi-point socket connector for plug-in printed circuit cards has a plurality of individual contact springs 2 arranged to engage contact surfaces towards an edge of a face of a card plugged edgewise into the connector and one or more pins 5, 6 of insulating material for limiting, by a predetermined amount, movement of the contact springs in a direction perpendicular to the plane of the card, to prevent the apices of the springs 2 coming into the path of entry of the card. Contact springs 2 may be plated with a precious metal, e.g. gold. Guide web 3 establishes correct orientation of the printed circuit card.
