Abstract

1,111,183. Electrical connector. AMP Inc. 20 Feb., 1967 [11 March, 1966], No. 10751/66. Heading H2E. An electrical connector comprises a first part having a connecting portion 2 formed integrally with a flat contact portion 1, grooves 3 with chamfered edges 5 extending inwardly from edge 4 on opposite faces of portion 1, and a second resilient stamped part having a contact portion 6 comprising a transverse support member 8 from which two coplanar cantilever arms 9 extend in the same direction, the free ends 10 of arms 9 having corrosion-resistant plated rounded contact surfaces 11, so that the connector parts are universally pivotable relative to one another when mated. In a modification the grooves 3 are formed by a through slot (12), (Fig. 4, not shown).
