Abstract

The extraction and insertion aid is for rectangular plan-form connections. Connections are held or released by altering the position of a frame (3) fitting closely around the connectors at its mating surface. The frame forms an outer case for the fixed part of the plug socket pair and can move a short distance along its length, slots (9) and studs (10) define the movement. The free connector (2) is located in the frame by studs (13) locating within angled slots (11) in the frame such that as the frame is moved along the fixed connection the free part is pulled into or pushed away from its mating position.
