Abstract

1,208,738. Knitting-machines. EDOUARD DUBIED ET CIE. 14 Nov., 1967 [14 Nov., 1966], No. 51682/67. Heading D1C. In a selecting device for flat or circular machines in which jacks passing between the poles 18-19 of a magnet are selected by disturbance of the control field by a pulsed electromagnet 27, they are retained in their selected positions by auxiliary permanent or electro-magnets 30-1. The needle tricks are defined by non-magnetic inserts. The field of magnet 27 is concentrated by relieving its core to define a narrow upper face. The control field may be concentrated by non-magnetic inserts 41 or by replacing the pole pieces at the ingress by non-magnetic material. The pole pieces may be provided with a protective coating or be lapped by a protective layer.
