Abstract

1,207,812. Twist tubes. IMPERIAL CHEMICAL INDUSTRIES Ltd. 29 Aug., 1968 [4 Sept., 1967], No. 2435/70. Divided out of 1207811. Heading D1D. A rotatable multiple guide assembly or "orbital twister guide", which may be employed to effect the twist-crimping process of the parent Specification, comprises one rotor, or two rotors with a common drive, adapted to twist a group of strands or two parallel such groups in opposite directions. The rotor, in the form of a slotted gear wheel engageable with a driving pinion, is mounted with an axis of rotation through at least one bearing which has a closable gap (up to 180‹) sufficiently large to pass a strand parallel to the axis and comprises inwardly directed guide slots, with closed inner, and open outer, ends, in each of which a strand passed through the gap is received.
