Abstract

1,227,376. Double twist spindles. J. F. M. BONNABAUD and C. BRAT. 17 July, 1968 [3 Aug., 1967], No. 33954/68. Heading DID. In an inflow double-twist device for threads or wires having a device 17, 18, 32 for guiding the thread over the take-up bobbin and connected at each end to rotors 14, 15 mounted on half-shaft 2 and 5, pieces of vibration damping material e.g. tubs 34 of plastics material are inserted between each part 32 of the thread guide device and between the shafts 25 which carry the end of the thread guide device and the bores in rotors 14, 15 which carry them. Thus the thread guide is deformable and resiliently mounted and so resist breakage by fatigue. The half shafts 2, 5 which carry the rotors 14, 15, the plates 14a, 15a which locate the thread guide member 17, 18 and a balancing member 36, 37 and the frame 6 are kept in synchronous rotation by an external shaft 11 driving the shafts through sprockets 12 and chains 13.
