1397510 Opening rollers: open end spinning FRIED KRUPP GmbH 18 Sept 1973 [19 Sept 1972] 43782/73 Headings DID and DIN In an open end spinning machine roving 9 is fed by roller 7 to opening roller 5 and then to opening roller 4 co-axial with spinning rotor 3. Rollers 4 and 5 may have the same peripheral speed, in which case the axis of roller 5 may not be parallel to the axis of rotor 3, or roller 4 may have a peripheral speed higher than that of roller 5, in which case roller 5 and the rotor may have parallel axes. Roller 4 may have a peripheral speed equal to or higher than that of the rotor. Roller 5 is provided with conventional dirt-separating means, and rotor housing 1 has a stiffening ring 2 to stop flying parts of a broken rotor.
