1,206,829. Cleaning fumes from ovens; burners. CARR FASTENER CO. Ltd. 3 Dec., 1968 [26 Jan., 1968], No. 4237/68. Headings F4T and F4W. Cooking fumes from an oven pass through a duct 5 containing a catalytic unit heated by an electric element 16 to remove fumes before passing out through louvres 6 to the kitchen. The catalytic unit comprises a coil of asbestos tape 8, carrying a catalyst such as finely divided palladium, and the heating element 16 is mounted on a ceramic member 14 having bores 16a through which the gases flow.
