Abstract

The oven for open air cooking comprises a chest with refractory linings (4, 5) and partitioned (7) into a hearth (3) and a cooking chamber (2). Heat is transmitted from the hearth to the oven by an inclined deflector plate (6), and the chest is mounted on legs which may be adapted to form a carrier frame. The partition (7) is demountable and leaves an overhead opening whereby heat is transferable from hearth to oven. The inclination of the deflector plate (6), which may be of stainless steel, ensures that heat is directed into the oven. The hearth is provided with a demountable cover (11) which serves as a hot plate.
