1276819 Burning waste gases; cooking ovens BOLT BERANEK & NEWMAN Inc 1 May 1970 21074/70 Heading F4W In a cooking oven having a food support 7, a heating element 9 above the food support, an exhaust outlet 5 and an oven door 3, a catalytic oxidation unit or units 11 are arranged between the heating element 9 and the exhaust outlet so that fumes from the food cooking on the support 7 are burnt in the catalytic units 11. Each unit 11 is of the type comprising a coil of corrugated material on which the catalyst is supported to form a number of parallel passages, and the fumes and the catalytic units are heated by the cooking element 9. The oven is arranged so that the passage of air into the oven is possible with the door closed, and a second heating element 8 is arranged below the support 7.
