Abstract
1,205,045. Photo-sensitive material containing silver salts other than halides. EASTMAN KODAK CO. Nov.2, 1967 [Nov.7, 1966], No.49907/67. Heading G2C. [Also in Division C2] A photographic light-sensitive material comprises a support and contained in the support or in a layer borne thereon a pi-complex of a water-soluble silver salt and an unsaturated organic compound. The organic compound may be carbocyclic or heterocyclic, preferably an alicyclic polyene, cyclopentadiene or cycloheptatriene, or it can be phenylacetylene, N-vinyl-carbazole, pyridine or maleimide. The silver salt may be the sulphite, nitrite or, preferably, the nitrate. The complex is preferably contained in a layer borne by the support which contains a water-permeable polymeric binder, either polyvinyl hydrogen phthalate or a copolymer of maleimide. The material may be exposed and developed with conventional developing agents and may be fixed with aluminium sulphate or sodium sulphite. The photographic material may contain a spectral sensitizing dye and a photographic developing agent, preferably a hydroquinone, in which case it may be heat-developed.
