A jib crane has a load carriage (not shown) arranged to roll on a pair of channel-section guides 3 mounted one on either side of the jib 1 with their openings facing. Each guide 3 is formed by portions 3A, 3B, 3C of section increasing from the tip of the jib 1 to a tower (not shown) which carries a tension rope 2. The guides 3 have a continuous arris S and are connected to the jib framework 7, 8 by welding- plates 10, 11.
