Abstract

989,460. Ship's gantry cranes. S. MUNCK. July 29, 1963 [Sept. 12, 1962], No. 29915/63. Heading B8B. A ship's gantry crane which runs on longitudinal rails has jibs 7, Fig. 2, which are swung about pivots 10 by rams 11 and carry rails 8<SP>1</SP> which support a trolley. The jibs are locked in extended position by pins which are pushed through lugs 14 on the jib and main frame 9 by a ram 16. For added strength the lugs 14, Fig. 1, are upstanding. The jibs are supported below by lugs 17 which co-operate with adjustable stops 18.
