Abstract

1,198,020. Sewing-machines. SINGER CO. 10 Dec., 1968, [15 Dec., 1967], No. 58611/68. Heading DIG. A needle threader for a sewing machine comprises a thread engaging hook 30 which passes through the needle eye and offset fingers which laterally guide the hook, a slot 22 in the support arm 17 locating over a bolt head 26 in the needle bar to provide vertical alignment of the hook and needle eye. The support arm 17 is slotted at [19 to allow vertical movement relative to a pivot bolt 20 and spring 21. When not in use the support arm is released from the bolt head 26, swung into an upward position and the slot 22 is located on another bolt head on the machine head.
