Abstract

1,163,510. Sewing machines. G. M. PFAFF A.G. 9 Aug., 1968 [23Sept., 1967]. No. 38153/68. Heading D1G. Thread-guiding means in a sewing machine comprises a fixed frame having a cross bar extending transversely of the needle path, the frame extending between the path of movement of a thread eyelet arranged on the needle bar and the path of movement of the needle eye, said eyelet in its lower position overlapping the cross bar. The needle bar 6 carries a needle clamp 9 formed with a thread-guiding eyelet 11. A clamp 12, secured to the bearing 2 for the presser bar 3, carries a frame 13 disposed between the paths of movement of eyelet 11 and of the eye 8 of the needle 7. Frame 13 has a cross bar 14 extending transversely of the needle path. Eyelet 11 in its lowermost position overlaps bar 14, whereby the thread direction is changed immediately before the looptaker point enters the needle thread loop.
