Abstract

1,197,996. Air-conditioning units. LUWA A.G. 8 Sept., 1967 [9 Sept., 1966; 9 Dec.,1966], No. 41183/67. Heading F4V. An induction air-conditioning unit comprises a casing 102 having a primary air chamber 114 with one or more outlet nozzles 148, supplied with purified air from a central installation and including a heating heat exchanger 126 positioned in a thermally insulated cell 140 controlled by a pivoted flap 132a, 132b, and a secondary air cooling heat exchanger 158 controlled by a pivoted flap 174, each heat exchanger being supplied from a separate water circuit. An air filter 160 and condensate collector 166 are provided and the flap 174 also controls a by-pass duct 176. In two other embodiments (Figs 2, 3, not shown), each heat exchanger is enclosed in a thermal cell having an open inlet or outlet at top or bottom depending whether the heat exchanger is cooling or heating air respectively, and the secondary air by-pass inlet is in the front wall 108 of the casing 102. The heat exchanger 158 may be connected to the hot water conduit system to heat the room by convection.
