Induction Air Conditioner The present invention relates to an induction air conditioner.
Induction air conditioning units have been known for some time that have two heat exchangers and are intended for connection to so-called four-pipe networks. The room air temperature is regulated by flaps which influence the passage of secondary air through the two heat exchangers as well as through a by-pass opening bypassing these heat exchangers into the mixing chamber containing the primary air nozzles in terms of quantity or proportion.
As a result of the low pressure drop that is permissible on the air side at the heat exchangers and the low flow rate of the secondary air, these heat exchangers have relatively large dimensions, so that the dimensions of the device itself are also relatively large. In addition, these heat exchangers are exposed to a relatively high degree of contamination by dust entrained by the secondary air if they are not preceded by filters which in turn increase the pressure drop.
The present invention now aims to provide an induction air conditioner which allows these difficulties to be partially avoided.
The induction air conditioner according to the invention with a housing containing a primary air chamber, a mixing chamber into which at least one nozzle connected to the primary air chamber opens, two heat exchangers, each of which is connected to its own network, an inlet opening for secondary air opening into the mixing chamber and one shut-off device for influencing the passage of air through the two heat exchangers is characterized in that one of the heat exchangers is arranged in the primary air chamber.
The arrangement of the one heat exchanger in the primary air chamber not only has the advantage that it is practically not exposed to pollution due to the application of purified air from the central air conditioning system, which means that the lamellae spacing is smaller than that of a heat exchanger arranged in the secondary air flow and thus higher performance , e.g. Heating power is enabled,
rather, a greater pressure drop can also be permitted in this heat exchanger as a result of the relatively high pressure prevailing in the primary air chamber. A heat exchanger arranged in the primary air chamber can therefore be kept significantly smaller with the same output, as a result of which the dimensions of the air conditioning device can be significantly reduced compared to devices with heat exchangers arranged in the secondary air flow.
In the drawing, an exemplary embodiment of the induction air conditioning device according to the invention is shown in cross section.
In the drawing, 2 designates the housing of an induction air conditioner, which has the rear wall 4, the front wall 6 and the cover 8. In a primary air chamber 12, which forms part of the housing 2, opens a primary air line 10, which is connected to an air treatment system, not shown. In the primary air chamber 12, below the mouth of the primary line 10, a heat exchanger 14 connected to a hot water line is attached to the rear wall 4.
A casing 18 is mounted below the heat exchanger 14 on the rear wall 4 so as to be rotatable about an axis 16 and has an L-shaped cross section and end faces 20. The casing 18 can be pivoted into the position shown in dashed lines, in which the heat exchanger 14 is covered on the end faces, on the sides and below. The axis 16 extends parallel to a longitudinal edge of the heat exchanger 14.
To the side and above the heat exchanger 14 are arranged in the primary air chamber 12 on the front and on the rear wall of the same boundary plates 22 and 24, which leave a passage opening 26 between them. An adjustable flap 30 mounted laterally in the housing 2 is arranged to be pivotable about an axis 28 which extends parallel to and in the vicinity of the longitudinal edge of the heat exchanger 14 closest to the primary air line 10. In its end positions, the flap 30 rests against the metal sheets 22 or 24 in an airtight manner. The flap 30 and the casing 18

are in drive connection with a servomotor, not shown, which is controlled by a thermostat.
At the level of the heat exchanger 14, in the front wall of the primary air chamber, an upwardly curved nozzle 32 is arranged, which connects the primary air chamber 12 with a mixing chamber 34.
Below the primary air chamber 12, in a housing opening in the front wall 6, a heat exchanger 36 connected to a cold water line is arranged, which extends obliquely upward against the front wall 6 and leaves a bypass opening 38 free between it and the front wall. The side of the heat exchanger 36 adjacent to the bypass opening 38 is thermally insulated by a felt 40. Likewise, the pipe bends 42 of the heat exchanger 36 are insulated to avoid losses.
On the air inlet side of the heat exchanger 36, several fins 44 are arranged one above the other, which are mounted laterally in the housing and are pivotable about axes 46. In the closed position, the fins 44 are partially overlapping and close to one another and to the heat exchanger 36. The lamellae 44 are in drive connection with the already mentioned servomotor, not shown. An adjustable flap 50 mounted laterally in the housing 2 is arranged pivotably about the axis 48, which extends parallel to and in the vicinity of the longitudinal edge of the heat exchanger 36 closest to the primary air chamber 12.
When the induction air conditioning unit is in operation, conditioned primary air flows through the primary air line 10 into the primary air chamber 12 and, when the flaps are in the position shown, flows partly through the heat exchanger 14, partly past it laterally into the nozzle 32, from which it exits at high speed. As a result of the negative pressure thus created in the mixing chamber 34, secondary air is sucked in from the room in which the air conditioning unit is located through the bypass opening 38. The heat exchanger 36 does not have air flowing through it since the fins 44 are closed and the flap 50 rests against the primary air chamber 12.
If more heat is required by the thermostat which controls the air conditioning unit, the flap 30 rotates clockwise so that more air flows through the heat exchanger 14. When the device is at its maximum heat output, the flap 30 rests on the sheet metal 24 in an airtight manner and all primary air is passed through the heat exchanger 14. If necessary, the temperature of the medium flowing through the heat exchanger 14 can be adjusted upwards or downwards depending on the load conditions.
If the temperature in the room to be air-conditioned is too high, the flap 30 rotates counterclockwise under the control of the servomotor and reduces the amount of air passing through the heat exchanger 14 until it finally rests on the sheet metal 22 and all the primary air flows past the heat exchanger 14 . If this position is reached and the temperature in the room is still too high, the servomotor rotates the casing 18 counterclockwise until it is in the dashed position and the heat exchanger 14 is shielded from the air. If the temperature in the room is still too high, the servomotor opens the slats 44 up to a position in which they offer the lowest possible air resistance.
If more cooling is required, the servomotor initially turns the flap 50 clockwise into an intermediate position so that part of the secondary air passes through the heat exchanger 36 and is cooled, the other part passes through the bypass opening 38. When the cooling capacity is at its maximum, the flap 50 rests against the front wall 6 and all secondary air is passed through the cooler 36. If necessary, the temperature of the cooling medium of the heat exchanger 36 can also be adapted to the prevailing load conditions here.
It is of course also possible to couple the flaps of several air conditioning units together using connecting elements and to control all the flaps of the air conditioning units in the relevant room with a single servo motor.
In addition to the flaps covering the heat exchangers, sliding plates on the front and back of the heat exchanger or air cushions, which cling to the heat exchanger when inflated and either collapse or roll up due to a built-in spring, or folding elements that can be pushed together are conceivable . Flap elements with adjustable partial flaps can also be used for regulation.
It is also possible to provide such an induction air conditioner with two separate nozzles 32, which can be switched on the air side and in one case let the primary air flow past the heat exchanger, in the other case let it flow out into the mixing chamber before reaching the heat exchanger.
