Abstract

1,194,327. Sliding windows. ARCHITAL LUXFER Ltd. 7 July, 1967 [25 Aug., 1966], No. 38152/66. Heading E1J. In a horizontally sliding window having an outer slidable sash and a fixed or slidable inner sash to avoid obstruction of drainage water by the guide for the outer sash, this latter is supported on rollers &c. 52 which run on the downwards and outwardly sloping sill member surface 30 and is guided by a channel strip 44 secured to the depending member 42 from the sash 5 and engaging a guide extension 40 from the guide 33 of the inner sash, there being weather .seal strips 47, 49 provided on either side the extension 40. The guide 33 is supported by an extension having a recess 36 and inturned end 35 which engage respectfully with an upstanding flange 31 and recess 32 of the sill member 30, Which is provided with ribs 26, 29 to rest the sill of the wall of the opening or a cleat 27 if present.
