Abstract

118,438. Green, W. Aug. 27, 1917. Copy-holders.-A book-marker or line-indicator for facilitating reference to or reading of books &c. comprises a strip or strips extending across the book and attached at their ends to fittings capable of sliding adjustment on rods secured by clips to the book cover. The line-indicating strips c<1>, c<2>, c<4>, c<5> are adjustable to the width of the book and have a central hinge c<3> to enable them to fold within the book. The ends of the strips are connected to spring-controlled disks in the fittings d<1>, d<2> which can both slide and turn on the side rods b, and may be constructed to telescope into one another when the book is closed. A single strip of cloth or flexible metal may be used in place of the strips c', c<2>, c<4>, c<5>, and a reading-lens f and a lamp may be supported from the rods b.
