Be it known that l', Jour.' W'Amunn, Jr., of Farringdon House, tarwick Lane, in the city ofl London, England, immufacturer, have invented certain new and useful lm provenients in and Relating to Covers Afor liooselieaif Books, Files, and rlemporary llt) Binders, of which the :following is a specitication.

rlhis invention relates to covers for loose lea'f books, files and temporary binders and the like and has for its objectto provide a cover which will lie flat on the table when opened and in use.

This invention may be applied to various forms of binding devices, and comprises a cover provided with two parallel folds spaced apart a distance equal to the thickness of the binding device or book and `means for attaching the cover to the bind ing device along one edge of the said biliding device at or near one crease in the covcr.

Figure 1 is a part plan and Fig. 2 is a section on line A-A Fig. 1 of one Aforni of cover4 formed and attached to a binding device in accordance with this invention.

The binding device preferably of the construction shown comprising a strip of material having longitialinal :folds therein spaced apart substantially the same as the folds in the cover, the leaves being fastened between the folded sides thereof. One face of the bindingl device is attached to the cover by a strip c or strips oif canvas or other material, so that the edge f' of the bindiragl device is at or near one of the :folds in the cover.

2. ln a device of the character described, the combimitiou of a cover having two folds spaced apart from cach other, an attaching strip and a binding device for leaves comprising a strip of material having two bends therein spaced apart substantially the same as the folds in said cover,attached to said attaching strip and disconnected from the other parts of the combination, whereby said cover may lic liat when opened and the leaves may be turned without lifts ing said cover, said attaching strip being of tlexiblc material and extending outwardly along one of the ifolds in said cover, and having portions attaclud to said cover on either side of the said :fold in said cover.
