Abstract

1,181,857. Prefabricated buildings; panels; clamp fastenings. P. AND A. INVESTMENT Inc. 8 June, 1967 [23 Jan., 1967], No. 26578/ 67. Headings E1A, E1B, E1W, E2A and E2B. Tongued and grooved building panels comprising frames 3, 4, 6, 7 covered with sheet material 12, 13 and filled with insulating material 14 are provided with locking members 10 and complementary keepers 11 in the tongues and grooves respectively. Each locking member comprises an eccentrically mounted key-operated semi-circular plate 17, Fig. 4, with a circumferential flange 18 and co-operates with a keeper 11, Fig. 5, with pressed-in semi-circular portions 25 behind which the flange 18 engages. Keepers 11 may be provided on foundations and the underside of flat or sloping roofs to cooperate with locking members on the panels, and may also be employed at the ridges of inclined roofs, Figs. 15 and 16 (not shown). Some wall panels may comprise doors and door frames or may include windows. Caulking pads are arranged in the corners of the grooves.
