Abstract

1,181,240. Clamps. BERKEY TECHNICAL (U.K.) Ltd. 25 Aug., 1967 [23 Sept., 1966], No. 42580/66. Heading E2B. [Also in Division F4] A mounting for a high power tubular lamp consists of a heat sink, pads 23, 24 on the sink for thermally contacting the bulb 21 adjacent its ends and electrical contacts for engaging the ends of the lamp. In the embodiment illustrated the sink comprises an aluminium block (1) formed with pins 2 and carrying a reflector 26 for the lamp. The lamp 21 has a flattened seal at each end and at one a pivoted clamp member 10 (see also Fig. 5) is provided on a block 9 to provide cooling of that end of the lamp by conduction to the heat sink. The clamp member 10 is held in position by a latching leaf spring 11.
