Abstract

117,547. Yearsley, H. Oct. 20, 1917 Limbs, artificial.-In a leg and foot, the ankle joint is formed by forked members H secured to the leg and carrying bolts M which pass through slots Z in the foot, a block of rubber L being interposed between the end of the leg and the foot. The toepiece N has a tongue 0 entering a slot in the foot and is further connected thereto and spring-controlled by springs Q connected at U, V to metal plates and having free ends which enter leather-lined sockets P. The free ends of the springs may be partially restrained by leather strips W.
